Night currency for carrying passengers counts landings made during which period?
1 hour after sunset to 1 hour before sunrise.
- From sunset to sunrise
- Evening civil twilight end to morning civil twilight start
- From 1 hour after sunset to 1 hour before sunrise ✔
Why: Section 61.57(b) requires three takeoffs and three full-stop landings in that window within the preceding 90 days to carry passengers then. They must be as sole manipulator in the same category, class and type, if required.
Huh, didn't know that: The general FAA definition of night is different: end of evening civil twilight to the start of morning civil twilight.
What if a dog flew the first airplane? Well, it just wouldn't be Wright.
